Dr. Salama is a highly regarded specialist, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, with extensive experience in orthodontics, periodontics and implantology. His impressive resume includes serving as an academic teacher at the University of Pennsylvania, and founder of the Scientific Committee at leading educational website DentalXP.
CV Dr Maurice Salama
Dr. Maurice A. Salama completed his undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1985, where he was a member of the university’s basketball team and was nominated for the State of New York All Scholastic Team. After graduation, he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology.
He then went on to post-graduate school to earn a DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Salama completed a one-year general practice and surgical residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, in 1989-90, where he was appointed chief resident.
Dr. Salama later returned to the University of Pennsylvania SDM and obtained a double specialization in orthodontics and periodontics, and underwent implant training at the Branemark Center in Penn.
Dr. Salama currently teaches at the University of Pennsylvania and Augusta University as an adjunct clinical professor of periodontics.
Dr. Salama remains a founder and permanent member of the scientific committee of the world’s leading dental education website www.DENTALXP.com.
He is also a member of Team Atlanta Dental Practice, a multidisciplinary dental practice known worldwide for its clinical research in implant, restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Salama and his TEAM have published numerous scientific articles, book chapters and periodicals in peer-reviewed journals and are frequently invited as speakers at dental conferences around the world.
Dr. Salama is also CEO of the “Salama Training Centers” in Miami and now in Romania, which offers one-year implantology residency programs in the US and Europe.
